What Is Soy Wax?

Soy wax is a plant-based wax made from soybeans.

After harvesting, the beans are cleaned, cracked, and pressed to extract their oil. That oil is then hydrogenated, transforming it into the smooth, creamy wax that makes beautiful candles.

It is renewable, biodegradable, and derived from nature.

Unlike paraffin wax – which is a by-product of crude oil refining. Soy wax comes from a crop that can be replanted and grown year after year. Paraffin originates from fossil fuels: a finite resource formed over millions of years.

Why We Choose Soy Wax

Renewable
Soy wax is made from soybeans – a renewable crop – unlike paraffin, which is petroleum-based. Choosing a plant-based wax supports agricultural cycles rather than petroleum extraction.

Responsibly Sourced
The soy we use is derived from renewable botanical sources. We intentionally work with suppliers who prioritise responsible sourcing and aim to avoid deforestation, while supporting sustainable farming practices and land stewardship.

Biodegradable
Soy wax breaks down more readily in the environment than petroleum-based alternatives.

Our wax contains no animal products and is completely vegan.

Beautiful Fragrance Performance

We have tested other plant-based waxes, including rapeseed and coconut, but found they did not deliver the same consistent fragrance throw and performance we strive for. Soy allows us to achieve the premium scent experience our candles are known for.
