What’s the Cotton Pad Method?
The cotton pad method is a quick and easy way to remove used wax from your burner without waiting for it to fully harden. It’s ideal if you enjoy changing fragrances regularly.
- Extinguish the tealight (or turn off your electric burner).
- Wait until the wax has cooled slightly. You want it to be liquid but no longer extremely hot.
- Place a cotton pad or cotton wool ball into the melted wax.
- Allow it to absorb the wax for a few seconds.
- Carefully lift the cotton pad out using tweezers or your fingers (if it’s cool enough) and dispose of it in the bin.
- Wipe away any remaining residue with a fresh cotton pad or kitchen roll before adding a new wax melt.
