A Candle for Every Turn of the Year
Hand-poured in small batches in a solar-powered barn, tucked into the Yorkshire woodland.
Embers & Roots began with a simple wish: a home that smells of the season it is in. The stillness of January, the warmth of midsummer, the comfort of a winter fireside, each captured in wax and lit when the moment comes.
The workshop
Small Batches, Slow Mornings
We pour every candle by hand in a converted barn run on solar power. There is no production line, just warm soy wax, a radio playing while the wicks set, and the quiet of the woodland through the open doors.
Working in small batches means we can take our time, test every fragrance properly, and keep a careful eye on each pour.
Where the name comes from
Embers, and Roots
The Embers are the warmth and the glow, the small ritual of lighting a candle at the end of the day. The Roots are for family, and for the wooden boxes that grandad Kevan made by hand.
